Chromospheric extension of the MURaM code

چکیده

Context . Detailed numerical models of the chromosphere and corona are required to understand heating solar atmosphere. An accurate treatment is complicated by effects arising from non-local thermodynamic equilibrium (NLTE) radiative transfer. A small number strong, highly scattering lines dominate cooling in chromosphere. Additionally, recombination times ionised hydrogen longer than dynamical timescales, requiring a non-equilibrium (NE) ionisation. Aims. We describe set necessary additions MURaM code that allow it handle some important NLTE effects. investigate impact on caused NE radiation magnetohydrodynamic simulations Methods. The was extended include physical process for an simulation chromosphere, as implemented Bifrost code. This includes time-dependent ionisation, multi-group transfer scheme, approximations cooling. Results. inclusion physics has large structure chromosphere; ionisation leads higher fraction enhanced populations first excited state throughout cold inter-shock regions this prevents buffering energy fluctuations, leading hotter shocks cooler regions. ground 10 2 –10 3 upper up 9 near transition region. Conclusions. Including significant differences chromospheric dynamics. thermodynamics calculated using version consistent with previous simulations. electron temperature accurately synthesise spectral lines.

A User-Friendly Code to Diagnose Chromospheric Plasmas

The physical interpretation of spectropolarimetric observations of lines of neutral helium, such as those of the 10830 Å multiplet, represents an excellent opportunity for investigating the magnetism of plasma structures in the solar chromosphere. Here we present a powerful forward modeling and inversion code that permits either to calculate the emergent intensity and polarization for any given...

Chromospheric Flares

In this topical review I revisit the “chromospheric flare”. This should currently be an outdated concept, because modern data seem to rule out the possiblity of a major flare happening independently in the chromosphere alone, but the chromosphere still plays a major observational role in many ways. It is the source of the bulk of a flare’s radiant energy – in particular the visible/UV continuum...

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

Chromospheric Oscillations

We show results from NSO/Sacramento Peak data to discuss three issues: (i)—the spatial occurrence of chromospheric 3–min oscillations; (ii)—the validity of Ca II H&K line-center Doppler Shift measurements; (iii)—the significance of oscillation power and phase at frequencies above 10 mHz.
